Educate about biodiversity
Context
Slow Food invited us to co-design the education area of Terra Madre 2022, the Turin biannual fair that brings together producers from all over the world, and which is also an opportunity for kids to explore what biodiversity is and why it is important to defend and preserve it.
Process
The theme of this was the subsoil and its characteristics, and the poultry supply chain around the world: we took up the challenge and, together with Slow Food, built a story through infographics and illustrations aimed at school groups visiting the fair. The entire set-up has been divided into panels, each with its own specific topic, and each panel follows a layout designed to be usable especially for children. We have chosen a palette in line with the institutional one but with more delicate and muted tones, given the complexity of the details and the quantity of illustrations that filled the area.
Solution
An illustrated space to learn and approach scientific content in a light way, covering a wide age range. A series of illustrations and infographics that followed one panel after another, until the entire area dedicated to children and teenagers was covered. In addition to this, other supporting materials were created, such as a large menu for the poultry area and a series of recipes that adults and children could explore and take home.
