Context
UNESCO’s 2019 Global Education Monitoring Report, Migration, displacement and education: Building bridges not walls, highlights countries’ achievements and shortcomings in ensuring the right of migrant and displaced children to benefit from a quality, inclusive education, a right that serves the interests of both learners and the communities they live in. We helped UNESCO with a series of collaterals for the launch of the report.

Process
After a first meeting to outline the objectives of the report, we drafted, together with UNESCO, the key elements to be included in the storytelling. We then developed a visual identity to be used across multiple media.

Solution
An illustration to summarize the main types of migration (internal, international, displacement, mobility of students and professionals), a series of infographics to visually represent key data (translated in the six main United Nations languages), and a video animation to introduce the topic through students’ stories.
