A youth forum to rewrite the future

Context
YOUZ is the youth forum of the Emilia-Romagna Region (Italy): a colourful, open and non-discriminatory space for discussion with the new generations, aiming to rewrite future regional policies together. YOUZ Carovana (EN: caravan) is the name of the 2022 journey of the forum. 10 stops in different cities involved girls and boys in collaborative workshops, which culminated with the final stop in Marzabotto to celebrate the results achieved.

Process
We designed a creative, fun and adaptable workshop for all the different stops along the way, with the final goal of identifying the most heartfelt issues on which the Region was called to intervene.

Solution
We followed the various stops, managing to engage the participants through team works. The workshops always started with a moment of exchange, included concrete examples of the territory and culminated with an exercise on fictional characters which was then shared in plenary. For the final stop, we designed a colourful and fun set-up to highlight the keywords that emerged from the workshops, that would make the Region’s commitment to implementing youth policies tangible.
