Context
Story Circles is a structured yet flexible methodology for developing intercultural competencies in a variety of contexts, both formal and informal. Piloted in five countries by UNESCO (Thailand, Costa Rica, Zimbabwe, Austria and Tunisia), the methodology has proven to be effective on a variety of different issues – from the social inclusion of migrants to the dialogue among indigenous peoples – with participants acquiring strong skills for tolerance, empathy, critical thinking and listening for understanding.

Process
UNESCO wanted to produce a short animated video to provide the audience with a brief introduction to the methodology and the reasoning behind it – all with a simple language and in a very accessible way. We helped them with the script, simplifying its first version, and started designing the video from there.

Solution
A bright and colorful video animation in English, then translated to Spanish, French and Arabic. Geometric shapes interact among themselves in a playful way, providing concise and useful information. The custom soundtrack was composed by https://mushroomsound.org/.
